We Stand Together in Our 80s: 65 Years Since We Left Assumption
What’s in a name? For us, it’s everything. We call ourselves The Blue Diamond Ladies, the survivors of time and tide, bonded by love and resilience. As long as we can love, we will survive. It’s been 65 years since we walked the halls of Assumption, and today, in our 80s, we stand together, unbroken in spirit and vibrant with memories.
Reflecting on this year’s Jubilee celebration, Marivic Meer de Leon captured the essence of the event: “It was a spectacular show for all to enjoy.” She extended her gratitude to the Silver Jubilarians, praising them as “gracious and generous hosts” and adding that “all the gems really shined.” The celebration, indeed, was nothing short of extraordinary—an incredible, astonishing, and extravagant production, possibly one of the grandest in the history of Assumption Jubilarian celebrations.
From the lights to the sound, and the powerful music that filled the auditorium, the atmosphere was nothing less than exhilarating. The dance performances, filled with exuberance, vitality, and grace, seemed like another global celebration. We felt that we were witnessing a triumphant victory dance of angels stomping out the shadows of the world. The radiance of good beauty and truth filled up the auditorium.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our brilliant choreographer, Anaviv Garcia, for her creativity, and to our devoted Class President, Angge Fores Henson, who, despite her own aches and pains, exemplified true elegance and grace by being with us every step of the way.
As Blue Diamonds, we don’t retire from life. We continue to fight the battles of love and resilience, with our iron-like bravery lodged in our hearts, minds, and souls. Our strength lies in faith, hope, and love. May we grow each day, honoring these timeless values.
To all the Blue Diamond Ladies: CHEERS! May our bond remain unbreakable, and may we continue to celebrate life together, throughout our journey filled with love.
