For about 9 or 10 years now, Christmas Eve for my immediate family took a different turn from the usual festive noche buena with my siblings’ families. The children were getting older and so families began to celebrate their own.
My small family of three then started a tradition of giving away packed meals to factory/ building security guards and gasoline attendants around the city who could not be with their families on Christmas Eve because they had to work. We cooked food at home, packed and distributed these after our own Christmas Eve Mass and Dinner.
What was supposed to be just a Christmas project for one year is now a yearly thing for us. It is our way of giving back and thanking the Lord for the blessings He had showered upon us the whole year. The big smiles and sincere responses we receive are more precious than any big packaged gift we would have received.
We look forward to another Christmas Eve of pure joy…but now we are a family of four, soon to be five🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄
