AAA ANNUAL BAZAAR: 26 YEARS…AND COUNTING!

by Ana de Villa Singson

On its 26th year, the AAA Annual Bazaar is going very very strong! We opened our doors for  the 26th time at the SMX Aura Convention Center on November 16 and 17.  We had a head count of almost 2 000 eager, excited to buy shoppers on each day!  Day 2 had us a little worried…a mega storm was looming and weather forecasts had heady,  gusty winds and heavy rain coming our way.  In the early hours of November 17, organizers were divided on closing early at 5 pm. Our vendors were uncertain too, with several eager to continue till 8 p.m. despite the inclement weather and others requesting to close at 5 pm before the storm set in.  In the end, the super storm was more benevolent than expected and despite the less than rosy weather forecast, shoppers came in to do some heavy shopping… and our headcount was almost parallel with Day 1, despite closing 3 hours earlier.  Truly, the Assumption alumane’s heart is stout, brave and so very, very supportive of our bazaar… and all our activities as well!

We had so many vendors this year that we even had to put booths at the entrance  hallway usually reserved for registration! We had vendors who only join bazaars once a year…and they chose to be in our AAA Bazaar!  We also have our “regulars”who join us year after year, plus some “newbies” who heard that our bazaar was THE bazaar to be in! Our bazaar is also the only bazaar with a “walking live mic” (that was me…hopping from booth to booths, pointing out the many exciting “finds” and directing buyers to the different stalls!) to advertise our booths with gusto to our shoppers!

Very  special thanks to our sponsors…your generosity has helped fund scholarships, social and spiritual development throughout Assumption Mission Schools across the country!

To our valued vendors, thank you for your trust!

To our dearest shoppers, thank you for filling our halls and making our bazaar a yearly success!  See the photos and videos below and relive the moments!

To our hard-working Bazaar committee headed by Marie Concepcion Young (they were up  and organizing setup and ingress as early as 2:00 a.m.) and to all the AAA Trustees who recruited vendors, manned the credit card booth, patrolled the halls, conducted our regular and much – awaited raffles plus plus… thank you for all your wonderful support and congratulations on a very successful 26th AAA Annual Bazaar!

See you all in our 27th AAA Annual Bazaar!  Excited to see you all again!
