In Philippine media, few names resonate as profoundly as Vicky Morales. With a career that has spanned decades, this esteemed newscaster of GMA 7 has not only captured the hearts of viewers but has also redefined the landscape of journalism in the Philippines. Her unwavering commitment to truth and excellence has made her a beloved figure, embodying the grace and tenacity that our Assumption community cherishes.

 

Vicky’s journey began in the corridors of Assumption College, where the seeds of her future career were sown. Her passion for storytelling and her dedication to serving the public good were evident even then. As she transitioned from the classroom to the newsroom, Vicky quickly became a formidable presence on television. Since 2014, she has been a co-anchor of GMA Network’s early evening newscast, **24 Oras**, captivating audiences with her insightful reporting. Additionally, she has been the host of the Saturday afternoon documentary-drama show **Wish Ko Lang!** since 2004, showcasing her ability to connect with viewers on a deeply personal level.

Her work on *Wish Ko Lang!* earned her the **Best Public Service Program Host** award from the PMPC Star Awards for Television, acknowledging her impact in the realm of public service broadcasting. Vicky previously anchored *Saksi*, GMA Network’s late news program, from 1999 to 2014, further solidifying her reputation as a credible and compassionate journalist. Currently, she also hosts **Good News Kasama si Vicky Morales** on GTV, which began in 2011 when GTV was known as GMA News TV, demonstrating her versatility and adaptability in the ever-evolving media landscape.

Vicky’s accolades extend beyond national recognition; she has received awards from various local organizations, including *The Outstanding Young Men in the Philippines*,  **Catholic Mass Media Awards**, **UP Gandingan**, **USTv Awards**, and **Gawad Tanglaw**, as well as the **Anak TV Seal**. Internationally, her skills as a journalist have been recognized by prestigious organizations such as the **Asian TV Awards**, **Association for International Broadcasting Awards**, **New York Festivals**, **US International Film and Video Awards**, and the **George Foster Peabody Awards**. These acknowledgments are a testament to her dedication and excellence in journalism.

Beyond her professional achievements, Vicky is a loving wife to King Reyno and a devoted mother to her three children, Leon, Pipo, and Daniela.
