HELPING HANDS: Carmella Gana Araullo

Honoring Carmella Gana Araullo

A Tenure of Leadership and Service As we approach the end of the year, it is with heartfelt appreciation that we recognize Carmella Gana Araullo, the esteemed President of the Assumption Alumnae Association. Her leadership has not only strengthened our community but has also significantly impacted the Assumption Mission schools during a challenging period. As her term comes to a close, we reflect on her remarkable accomplishments and the legacy she leaves behind.

During her term, Carmella navigated the Assumption Alumnae Association through the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. With resilience and determination, she adapted to the needs of the organization and its members, ensuring that our community remained connected and engaged during difficult times. Her ability to lead with empathy and vision inspired many, fostering a spirit of unity and support among alumnae.

Under Carmella’s guidance, the AAA successfully spearheaded numerous fundraising activities that benefited the Assumption Mission schools all over the Philippines, namely St. Martin’s School, Baguio; San Juan Nepomuceno School, Malibay, Pasay City; Assumpta Technical School, San Simon, Pampanga; Socio-Economic Center, Barrio Obrero, Iloilo; Assumption Grade School, Passi, Iloilo; Sta. Rita Academy, Sibalom, Antique; St. Vincent Academy, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte; and Xavier de Kibangay High School, Lantapan, Bukidnon. These initiatives not only provided vital resources for students and educators but also reinforced the importance of giving back to the community that continue to shape our lives. Her innovative approach and unwavering commitment to the mission of Assumption exemplify the values we hold dear.

Carmella spearheaded the Annual AAA Golf Tournament and Bazaar, events that not only foster community spirit but also raise vital funds for our Mission schools. These events have become cherished traditions that bring together alumni, friends, and supporters, all united by a common goal of giving back.
In addition, Carmella provided support to MagnificArt for the “Bring Them Home” initiative, to contribute to the construction of our beloved Religious of the Assumption’s home.

Recognizing the importance of education, Carmella also collaborated with Alpabasa to bring teacher training to 30 educators from Assumption and different mission schools, along with 5 madrasah teachers from Mindanao. This initiative acknowledges that everything starts with a lifelong love for reading and learning in our preschool children, ensuring that our youngest learners receive the best foundation for their educational journey.

Carmella’s dedication extends beyond her role in the Association; she shares a wonderful life with her husband, Alan, and is a proud “mommy” to her beloved dogs, Taz and Dos. Her warmth and kindness resonate in both her personal and professional life, making her a beloved figure among her peers and the wider Assumption community.

As she prepares to conclude her term, we honor Carmella Gana Araullo for her outstanding leadership and the positive impact she has made on our beloved Assumption. Her contributions have not only enhanced the Assumption Alumnae Association but have also left a lasting legacy of service and commitment to our mission schools.

Thank you, Carmella, for your unwavering dedication and for inspiring us all to embrace the spirit of giving and community. Your leadership will be remembered and cherished, and we look forward to seeing the continued impact of your efforts in the years to come.
