MALU GAMBOA LINDO REMEMBERS

Today, we gather to remember and celebrate the incredible life of Sr. Regivic, who has been a part of our lives since she served as our High School Principal at Assumption San Lorenzo in 1986.

I’ll never forget the day before our High School graduation when she wanted to check my speech. One of my lines was, ‘God loved us since we were born.’ She firmly corrected me with her big eyes and pointed finger, saying, ‘No, God loved us EVEN BEFORE we were born.’ That little moment stuck with me and perfectly captures her way of guiding us—with firmness and wisdom.

Sr. Regivic was also so cool. During our Silver Velada, she watched our practices and approved our classmate’s sexy bustier and thigh high boots for the opening number. She told us to dance fabulously and always give our all during our performances.

During the pandemic, we hosted an online disco party fundraiser, which she fully approved of and said she would try to pop in and join us. I believe she did, even if it was in between a vigil for Our Lady of the Assumption!

My sisters and I always remember her as the first one we would see whenever we come to San Lo. We will miss seeing her when we come, but know that she will forever be watching over us from above.

Thank you, Sr. Regivic for making all of us who we are today. Thank you for always checking on us. Please continue to watch over all of us and know that we will continue to always make you proud.
