Walking with SME

To know the Blessed Mother is to know God, and God made us know each other’s hearts through our devotion to Mary and the Rosary.

Growing up, the Rosary brought us close to the Father. It was prayed in adoration to God, in thanksgiving, and to ask for the Mother’s intercession in times of worry.

These days, we have a special time for the Rosary, it is at 8 o’clock, mornings, Manila time and at 8 o’clock, evenings, Maryland time.

You see, our family is in different continents, but the Rosary gathers our family to pray– even if it is to pray online. Even now with our parents gone, my sister, Jolina and her family in Maryland, two nieces in Phoenix, Mom’s sister (who is a Religious of the Good Shepherd) in QC, and my brother and I in Makati, still keep this time to pray, to see each one and be together. We may not always be complete, but there is comfort in knowing that there will always be a family member ready to pray with you.

Our prayer intentions are for the Lord’s protection over each of us, and for the souls of our dearly departed. It personally gives me strength as I start my day. I am truly grateful to be able to pray for each other, and likewise feel blessed to have those I love pray for me.

With our parents, Jaime G. Guba and Maria Fe F. Guba (Educator, Assumption High School 1993-2006), me and my sister, Jolina Maria Christina G. Hui (BS Psychology, 1998)
