23 years ago, Assumption College High School Batch ’99 marched down the Mother Rose Hall with our class motto imbibed in our hearts and minds: Live in Faith. Serve with Passion. Grow in Love. As we journeyed through our own roads of life, love for us, has been expressed in many ways: finding LOVE in marriage, partnerships and lifelong commitments; growing LOVE towards our child or children; LOVING our passion in our chosen career paths & entrepreneurial endeavors; giving back that LOVE to those who have shaped us, who we are and who we have become as an individual; embracing self-LOVE and discovering what life can offer.
As we prepare for our #RoadToVelada2024, our batch continues to live out a life of love by celebrating the Valentine season through a special partnership with Paper Moon, one of the country’s premium Japanese dessert shops. Inspired by the iconic Assumption Tart, Paper Moon has baked to perfection two new creations in the sweet-tangy flavor of Guava: their famous Mille Crepe, a cake with layers of light, pastry cream layered between delicate paper-thin crepes and their popular Cheese Tarts, bites of buttery crusts topped off with velvety cheese and Guava compote. Each order of these guava desserts also come with a special Valentine-themed Assumption branded topper designed by ACHS 1999’s Kate de Dios, a senior art director at design software company Canva. The adorable design on a delectable dessert is sure to put a smile on any Assumptionista’s face!
Portions of the proceeds of every Mille Crepe and Guava Cheese Tart sold will be going to the various Assumption Mission Schools and communities across the country. As a certified dessert foodie, I gauge my main meal based on how much dessert I plan to consume. I always scan the dessert menu first. This guava cheese tart , with the adorable Assumptionista choco-mallow topper, made my heart sing! The fresh burst of guava jelly layered between light and creamy cheesecake is the perfect tangy contrast to the sweetness of the light and creamy cheesecake. Plus, it’s inspired by our very own Assumption Tart and helps Assumption Mission Schools, so it checks all the right boxes! The petite cheesecakes come in a box of 3’s. What happened to the other two tarts in the picture? I very quickly wolfed them down…with just a little help from my sons! With my favorite Ganmaicha tea….bliss! Enjoy, enjoy! I know I did!
