High School 1993
Aside from being a seasoned advertising executive with achievements in brand launches and brand building campaigns, I am also a wife, and a mother of 3 boys. I also love to experiment in the kitchen which has led to a small business called the Cuitchen.
Q: What activities do you think can be introduced to benefit alumnae and AC Mission schools.
A: During the pandemic I think one of the things that I was made aware of is the whole concept of sustainability. And how sustainability is not just about the environment or saving the planet. The term itself is very broad that it encompasses so many things from people, the planet, economy and even peace. As an institution, I know that we have been practicing sustainability in different ways – gender equality and women empowerment is one thing and AC has raised strong women who have become leaders in different fields. But I think we can look into the other facets of sustainability where it will benefit a wider audience not just the Alumnae but also our brothers and sisters from the mission schools and maybe extend to other communities. Let’s build more programs that teach people to repurpose things or upcycle what people think are trash but are actually waste products that can have a second life. This way we help our communities, we teach them new skills , we encourage members to invest or donate to support this and also help save the planet. And I know that our future alumnae are interested in this so we start young so that they grow and live with sustainability as part of their way of life.
Q: What are 1-2 key learnings from your Assumption education that moulded you into the woman you are now?
A: I’ve always been thankful for my Assumption education but the thing that I am most thankful for is my faith and living a life of service. I’s what keeps me going each day and pushes me to be a better person. Everything I do is not for me but for others.
Q: What achievement are you most proud of and why?
A: There are 2 things that I take into consideration. One is regarding my family – being able to raise 3 boys, being a wife, a working mom and still have a life outside that plus me time is big. Because it's not easy and because not everyone can do this. I’m thankful that I can do that Work – I work hard, but I’m not an over achiever and I don’t do things for fame but I’m proud to say that I’m always given the tough projects at work because people trust me that I can do it.
