“One AC. One Heart” September Edition: Growing in Vibrance, Deepening in Mission
The September edition of “One AC. One Heart” brought together alumnae from 1984 to 2004, with a vibrant wave of younger alumnae from 2015 to 2018 adding their energy to the circle. The morning was alive with dynamism — a gathering where wisdom met fresh enthusiasm, and where the Assumption spirit shone through in every story, smile, and shared memory.
At the heart of the gathering was the reflective question — “Why am I here?” From this, voices rose with sincerity and hope, forming a tapestry of meaning. Impactful words like serve, mission, prayers, faith, courage, and calling echoed the Assumption woman’s enduring commitment to live with purpose. Others spoke of sisterhood, friendship, connection, home, comfort, and good vibes — affirming that Assumption is more than a school; it is a place where bonds are nurtured and lives are intertwined. Still, many expressed the personal journey of growth, embracing intentional living, peace, happiness, resilience in faith and action, self-love, and completeness.
Together, these words painted a word cloud that was more than an activity — it became a mirror of the community’s heart. It revealed that while we gather to reminisce and reacquaint, what truly unites us is a shared mission: to be women of faith, action, substance and service, grounded in the spirit of Assumption. As St. Marie Eugénie reminds us, ‘Faith is the foundation of love: our life is a life of faith. We must ceaselessly renew, enlarge, fortify in us all the thoughts, all the sentiments of faith.’ Thanks to our journey in Assumption, faith remains our cornerstone — the root from which our connections, courage, and call to serve continue to grow.
Adding to this richness was the presence of our beloved and energetic school president, Sister Irene, who warmly reminded everyone that Assumption will always be home for its alumnae. Her words resonated deeply, echoing in a Facebook post shared by one participant: “Amid all the adulting we have been doing, it felt so good to come back home and be welcomed again by the AC community. No matter where life takes us, Assumption College will always be here, ready to welcome us back.”
The September edition reminded everyone that One AC. One Heart is more than a reunion — it is a living, growing community where faith and friendship are renewed, and where each individual finds meaning in being present.
The journey continues — as stories, prayers, and friendships deepen, Assumption alumnae carry forward a spirit that uplifts, unites, and transforms. This is the gift of being truly, and forever, One AC. One Heart. 💙
