ROMAN – TORRES, MARNIE

HIGH SCHOOL 1985

I was inspired by my cousin, an Ex-BOT, to give back to my Alma Mater. Assumption has played a large part of Who I am and How I am. I realized that now in return, I should give back and serve in the AAA.

  1. Why are you running for AAA’s BOT?

I was inspired by my cousin, an Ex-BOT, to give back to my Alma Mater. Assumption has played a large part of Who I am and How I am. I realized that now in return, I should give back and serve in the AAA.

  1. What do you think you can contribute to the AAA Board (or to the AAA?)?

I believe that I can contribute grounded insight and opinion, while being able to fulfill any task that the AAA might require. I consider myself organized and highly inclusive, and I am confident I can rally support over several batches of alumnae for important projects of the AAA.

  1. What gifts have you received from the Assumption and how have you used them to give back to AC or the bigger community?

Simplicity, Generosity, Compassion and Love for family and community.

These gifts and values that I’ve received and learned from Assumption have been my Mantra, in the way I live my life and in how I nurture relationships. I share those gifts and values with my family, my friends, my household helpers, their families and my community, too. I immediately respond when anyone calls for help, whether it is a call for care or support or advice. I also constantly give what I can for as long as I can, not just materially or financially, but also my time and my effort.
