AAA AROUND THE WORLD
Every three years, the Assumption Alumnae Association Abroad (AAAA) holds a reunion held in one of the U.S. cities. Each chapter takes turns hosting this event. While the occasion itself is a social event, this three-day weekend event usually incorporates fundraising activities and some kind of spiritual reflection to which alumnae are invited to speak on educational, inspirational and motivational topics.
The 12th Triennial Reunion, which was supposed to have been hosted by AAAA-NE and held in Philadelphia in 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic. However, that didn’t stop AAAA-NE from engaging in various activities to regain some normalcy in our daily lives. We were able to raise funds to donate to the Assumption Sisters’ Ministry in Chaparral, New Mexico.
This year, AAAA-NE has decided to hold the 12th Triennial Reunion with a simple dinner in New York City on August 12 and a picnic in Central Park the following day. We have chosen four high school students (two juniors and two seniors) from St. John’s School of Thabom of the Religious of the Assumption in Thailand as the beneficiary of our fundraising efforts.

My name is Yang Obrero from the Development and Engagement Team of ARK which is solving hunger for good and creating self-sustaining futures in just 16 weeks with farmers and fisherfolk in the Philippines (arksolves.org). We saw your alumni association in the organization list of Philippine Consulate General New York and we want to reach out to share something that may align with your mission.
ARK has a food security solution that has been the go-to sustainable food security solution by multinational corporations and foundations in the Philippines and the US. It is replicable and has been done in 77 communities across different provinces in the Philippines providing nourishing food and transforming 138,000 lives in just 2.5 years.
We want to invite you for a call to share more about our program, see and explore if we can partner in solving hunger for good and creating entrepreneurial paths for women in rural Philippines. Will you be available next week?
ARK is also hosting a star-studded gala, MAKE YOUR MARK, on November 2, 2023 at the Bohemian National Hall in New York City. If you’re available, we would love for you to come and directly hear from mayors who have partnered with ARK the impact of the program to families in their municipalities. Also, two Asia’s Best Female Chefs, Margarita Fores and Johanne Siy, are coming and will be collaborating for the first time in the US on a Michelin style multi-course dinner with wine pairings from award winning sommelier Jhonel Faelnar of Atomix, 8th best restaurant in the world.
